Well, yesterday I got the chapter out. That's always a good feeling, but this time it was doubly so because I just worked it in during a stolen half-hour. Client changed the afternoon meeting time, and I just had time to get it posted. Then, after the meetings and post-meeting work, the first reviews had started to come in already. Pretty much the ideal chapter rollout, and a great day.

I am absolutely blown away by the number of readers mentioning Poirot, Nero Wolfe, Agatha Christie, and whodunits in the classic style. Gives me a lot to live up to, but I've always said that an audience that demands your best is the greatest gift any writer or artist can hope for.

In other Gotham news, the PIC had a little surprise for me on Monday, and I have all the edits now to finish Identity Element and assemble the Book 3 compilation. It could conceivably happen this weekend, but not likely. Unlike the previous two, I haven't put together my artwork yet or assembled quotes for the back cover. Also, my last attempt at a mental health weekend to play with Gotham projects sort of crashed and burned. So I'm not making any promises or deadlines.

I will say that at some point by the end of the month there will be a Book 3 compilation, I will have broken ground on chapter 3 of Armchair Detective, and will have concocted some third 3-related thing to complete the great cosmic sign that, much as we all love Harvey and love TDK, we are moving on.

Ah yes, I have it. The third thing will be the third time's a charm blog entry on the three-lamp lighting design. So there.
