    With all the cooking analogies for writing, I think you all know that I like to cook. Not a fan of the dreary every night variety, more the once a week let's really have some fun kind. It's a beautiful day, and it's Sunday which means the farmers' market is out there. Nothing makes me want to cook and eat healthy like a beautiful day with a farmers' market within walking distance.

    Why does that go in the blog? Because it's part of the liberal arts thing needed for any kind of creative life. If you eat, sleep, and breathe "the job," maybe that's a virtue if it is literally a job and the job is accounting--but even there I doubt it.     Wow, that was one busy day for Gotham yesterday. After observing Respect Your Cat Day and finishing up the reformats for FFnet, the new chapter of I Believe in Harvey Dent went out. That's always a happy little flutter of excitement, but yesterday I did have to bag out of half of it and turn off the IMs. Much as I love hearing from the folks who like to respond privately and one-on-one that way, it's a luxury for me, timewise. Yesterday, it just wasn't doable. Sorry folks.

    I also got a wonderful fan letter, the kind that just reminds you how many different kinds of people are out there, disenfranchised from the characters and comics they used to love. I don't have kids, of course, my disappointment is just my own. There was something I used to enjoy, now it is gone.     It's no longer a secret that there is an ARG running for Cat-Tales that is inspired by and interweaving with the viral marketing for the Dark Knight movie. I was busy building our stuff and had little time to seriously play the real game before Christmas, so I was quite happy to see in IGN that there is another round, at least, gearing up in the real one. I went to www.ibelieveinharveydent.com and gave it an email address and phone number. Then I had to confirm the email address, something we are all used to. The very next mail to come in was from Smiley Central, subject line "Smileys are Fun and Free." Y'know, with Joker involved, I couldn't rule out the possibility that that was part of the game.
